Charity Cases
These are just a few of the charity cases that Hero Services has been able to assist. These charitable donations come for our Hero Services Relief Fund, that we raise funds for at our events. We wouldn’t be able to provide this type of assistance without the ongoing support from our following. Thank you for allowing us to make a difference!

Recent Success Story
After serving West Michigan as a firefighter for nearly two decades, a local hero wasn’t sure how he would heat his home this winter after enduring devastating injuries that catapulted him into financial hardships. Because of the Hero Services Relief Fund, his family no longer has to worry about how they will heat their home as the cold weather moves in. We provided their propane fill.
Amazing Success Story
The Hero Services Relief Fund was able to help a local disabled Veteran, facing food insecurity. He has been working hard and making each of his bills on time, but consistently falling short when it comes to basic needs. We took his vehicle payment off his plate this month, so he would have funds to purchase food for the foreseeable future.
Ken, Fire Captain
Hero Services was humbled to come to the aid of a local Hero, when he and his family needed it most. Ken, a Fire Captain, who has dedicated many years protecting the community, was faced with the choice between heating his home and medical bills. His wife, was in the fight for her life, battling breast cancer. Hero Services was able to assist Ken by ensuring the propane tank was filled and paid for. should have to choose between heat or medical treatment. Our assistance allowed Ken to focus on his family, knowing they’d stay warm during the brutal Michigan Winter. To this day, Ken and his family are friends of Hero Services, helping to further the mission, because they saw our kindness in action. He spreads the word about our events every chance he gets, because he knows there’s someone out there in a similar situation- and the more support we get from the community, the more Heroes we can help.
“Hero Services has stepped up and helped my wife and I with home heating at a time when we are facing some fears and financial hardships. I am a Captain on a rural paid on call fire department and my wife was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. She has been in the fight of her life. After 23 years in the fire service Hero Services was there when we needed it the most. Thank You and God Bless”

Michael, Army Veteran
After a very serious car accident that left Michael, an Army Veteran, with debilitating injuries, he knew it would be a long road to recovery. While pushing through the rehabilitation, he learned of Hero Services and attended our Strikes for Stripes event, in honor of those who perished 9/11/2001. As he healed from several broken ribs, and regained his ability to go back to work- his family was down one vehicle. This local hero and his wife shared their only vehicle, taking turns commuting to jobs and to doctors’ appointments. Soon they found the car misfiring, and upon inspection, it was in need of dire repair. The accident cause horrible financial setbacks, and it was a scary thought that at any moment their shared ride might break down, leaving them without any transportation and potentially without any source of income. Hero Services was able to arrange for the proper repairs to this hero’s vehicle, and give them peace of mind, that better days are ahead.
Our Biggest Charity managed by Hero Services
During the pandemic, a local paramedic became extremely ill. During the time she was recuperating her household situation was in dire straits, from utility bills racking up, to being able to purchase food for the animals on her hobby farm. Over the course of several months, Hero Services was able to step in and ensure the utilities stayed on and that the animals remained fed. We also ensured she was able to make all of her appointments that were required of her illness, that was presumably caused because of her services to her community. We were proud to assist her when no one else was able.
Due to the nature of her illness she was unable to return to service. With no income, she was passed from one assistance program to another and without getting any results until she ultimately contacted Hero Services. Our programming is so important, we don’t assist with any one specific need, we looks at each hero’s big picture and find out where our help can be most effective, and then we coach them down the path to get back on their feet again so ongoing assistance isn’t needed.
